THE METABOLISM OF FIRE
Pre Kamila Vargu je príznačná nedôvera k slovám. Autor sa vzpiera možnosti uchopiť jadro veci slovom, porozumieť behu sveta a zmyslu ľudskej existencie. Možno dokonca povedať, že popiera túto možnosť. V jeho fotografiách sa literárnosť obmedzuje na minimum, pre jednotlivé snímky či cykly zvolil buď technokraticky vecné názvy alebo novotvary či kresbu miesto titulu. Nezaujímajú ho príbehy, dej, ale neliterárna podstata sveta.
V autorovej tvorbe sa prelínajú tri základné individuálne (hlbinné) postoje – psychologický, metafyzický a rituálny. Tieto tri prvky určujú stavbu jeho diela. Raz je v popredí jeden, inokedy druhý prístup, ale v princípe sú vždy neoddeliteľnou súčasťou Vargovej poetiky.

Kamil Varga is characterised by a distrust of words. He resists the possibility of capturing the essence of things in language, of understanding the course of the world and the meaning of human existence. It can even be said that he denies this possibility altogether. In his photographs, literariness is reduced to a minimum; for individual images or cycles, he chose either technocratically factual titles, neologisms, or drawings instead of words. He is not interested in stories or plots, but in the non-literary nature of the world.
Varga’s work intertwines three fundamental (deep-seated) attitudes – psychological, metaphysical, and ritual. These elements shape the structure of his oeuvre. At times, one approach takes precedence over the others, but in principle they remain inseparable aspects of Varga’s poetics.
