INTIMITY - Visual poetry using edited fragments of Michal Zajaček’s photos
Potrebujeme poéziu? – pýta sa pomyselne Miloš Karásek svojimi intervenciami do verejného priestoru ľudnatého a uponáhľaného mesta. Ide vlastne o hypotetickú otázku. Intervenuje preto, lebo pozná odpoveď a ponúka ju všetkým, ktorí sa pohybujú po bratislavských uliciach a zákutiach. Umožňuje im poéziu zažiť, inscenuje nečakané stretnutia, bleskové rande s umením v útrobách Bratislavy. Všade, kde namiesto reklám inštaluje svojské básnické pútače, vytvára zrážku verejného s intímnym. Ktokoľvek môže prísť do styku s poetickou sériou Intimita, ktorá sa pôvodne zrodila na Instagrame a prepája slovo s obrazom. Jedno druhé neilustruje, ale premyslene posilňuje. Obraz zmnožuje silu slova, slovo podporuje imagináciu obrazu, a to všetko platí aj naopak a vytvára fascinujúcu jednotu, dodáva metaforám totálny účinok. Miloš Karásek ho dosiahol cez prelínanie minimalistických básní inšpirovaných tradíciou japonských haiku, so špecificky upravenými výrezmi z fotografií Michala Zajačka, ktoré odkazujú na okolitú realitu, na konkrétne momenty bytia človeka či prírody.

Do we need poetry? – Miloš Karásek asks this question imaginatively through his interventions in the public spaces of a populous, bustling city. In fact, it is a hypothetical question. He intervenes because he already knows the answer and offers it to everyone moving through the streets and corners of Bratislava. He allows them to encounter poetry, staging unexpected meetings and fleeting encounters with art in the very fabric of the city. Wherever he installs his poetic banners in place of advertisements, he creates a collision between the public and the intimate.
Anyone can engage with the poetic series Intimacy, which was originally born on Instagram and connects word with image. One does not illustrate the other; rather, they thoughtfully amplify each other. The image multiplies the power of the word, the word expands the imagination of the image, and together they create a fascinating unity that lends metaphors their full force.
Miloš Karásek achieves this through the blending of minimalist poems, inspired by the tradition of Japanese haiku, with carefully adapted cutouts from Michal Zajaček’s photographs – images that refer to surrounding reality, to specific moments of human existence, or to nature itself.
