TONO STANO
Tono Stano patří mezi nejznámější fotografy působící ve středoevropském kontextu s mnoha vazbami na celý fotografický i umělecký svět. Od začátku osmdesátých let, kdy vstoupil na výtvarnou scénu, zaujaly jeho převážně inscenované fotografie výraznou vizualitou, fantazií, humorem a propracovaností, což ovlivnilo i další generace fotografů doma i v zahraničí.
Výstava v Danubianě je zamýšlena jako „pracovní retrospektiva“ – jsou zde práce vzniklé již na střední škole a snímky realizované nedávno, nicméně není postavena na chronologickém řazení, ale na tematických celcích. Mezi ty patří studiové fotografie, cykly Bílý stín a Kosmos nebo fotografie vzniklé mimo ateliér – to doplněné menšími kolekcemi, mj. vzpomínka na legendární výstavu Hra na čtvrtého či spolupráce s Mezinárodním filmovým festivalem v Karlových Varech včetně návrhu hlavní ceny Křišťálový globus v roce 2001.

Tono Stano is one of the most renowned photographers in the Central European context, with strong ties to the broader photographic and artistic world. Since the early 1980s, when he entered the art scene, his predominantly staged photographs have attracted attention through their distinctive visuality, imagination, humour, and sophistication – qualities that have also influenced later generations of photographers both at home and abroad.
The exhibition at Danubiana in Bratislava is conceived as a “working retrospective.” It brings together works created as early as his secondary school studies alongside his most recent images. However, the exhibition is not organised chronologically but arranged into thematic sections. These include studio photographs, the White Shadow and Cosmos cycles, as well as works produced outside the studio. The presentation is further complemented by smaller collections, such as a reflection on the legendary exhibition Game for the Fourth and his collaboration with the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, for which he designed the Crystal Globe main prize in 2001.
