Od svojho založenia v roku 1970 univerzita Bielefeld podporuje kritický dialóg s príbuznými disciplínami vrátane teórie, mediálnych štúdií, módy, komunikačného dizajnu a digitálneho umenia. Je to miesto, kde sa fotografia neustále prehodnocuje a vyučuje.
Vystavené diela reflektujú tento prístup a dotýkajú sa tém sociálnej kritiky a introspekcie, politiky a súkromia, systémov a náhody, krásy a škaredosti, fotografie a postfotografie. Pokrývajú širokú škálu žánrov, od konceptuálnej a dokumentárnej až po umelú inteligenciu, módu, portrét a architektonickú fotografiu. Atmosféra diel študentov a ich pedagógov sú rovnako rôznorodé – niekedy vážne, inokedy hravé a občas až humorné.

Since its founding in 1970, the Bielefeld University has fostered critical dialogue with neighbouring disciplines, including theory, media studies, fashion, communication design, and digital arts. It is a place where photography is continuously rethought and taught.
The exhibited works reflect this approach, encompassing themes of social criticism and introspection, politics and privacy, systems and chance, beauty and ugliness, the photographic and the post-photographic. They span a wide range of genres, from conceptual and documentary to AI, fashion, portrait, and architectural photography. The works by students and their teachers are equally diverse in tone – sometimes serious, sometimes playful, and at times even humorous.
