Biography

Enikő Gábor is a recipient of the Balogh Rudolf Award and a photographic artist. She graduated from the Painting Department of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 1996 and subsequently received the Pécsi József Photography Scholarship for three years. In 2000, her Camera Reluxa series was awarded the Grand Prize at the Esztergom Biennial of Photography. From 2022 onwards, she was a scholarship recipient of the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
Enikő Gábor’s works occupy a distinctive position within contemporary Hungarian art. This is due not only to its position at the intersection of photography and painting, or to the technical awareness and experimentation that continually bring new ideas and creative momentum to her projects, but also to the way her work, through a wide range of approaches, reflects on the contemporary condition of the image and on the achievements and effects of the digital and virtual age.
