Biography

Fanny Boucher is a French artisan specialising in copperplate photogravure and founder of Atelier Heliog. She is among the small number of professional printers worldwide who continue to master the complete copperplate photogravure process. Since 2000, she has collaborated with leading contemporary artists, photographers, publishers, galleries, and museums, translating their images into exceptional hand-pulled copperplate photogravures. Appointed Maître d'art by the French Ministry of Culture in 2015, she is committed to preserving and transmitting this endangered craft through teaching, research, and innovation. Her work has been presented internationally, including at Homo Faber in Venice, the National Museum of China in Beijing, the National Museum of Tokyo, and The Phillips Collection in Washington. For the Bratislava Month of Photography festival, she presents the copperplate photogravure edition created in collaboration with photographer John Demos.
