PHOTOGRAPHIC LOVE STORY: SEDF 2005 – 2025

If there are places and cities in the world that can truly be called enduring homes of photography, then, since the profound social transformations that reshaped the region, Bratislava has undoubtedly become one of them in Central and Eastern Europe. Following the collapse of the socialist system, the capitals of the region sought distinctive cultural identities that would set them apart. Bratislava found its path in photography, embracing it as a defining cultural mission and realising countless significant exhibitions over the years. Among my cherished memories from my youth are the group trips we made to Bratislava in the cold of November – to what we regarded as the home of photography in Central and Eastern Europe.
