MIRO ŠVOLÍK 1975 – 2025

Touch

Miro Švolík (*1960) is, alongside Tono Stano, Rudo Prekop and others, a prominent representative of the Slovak New Wave of photography. In his book, he looks back on his creative journey from 1975, when he began studying photography at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Bratislava, up to the present day. The book brings together, in chronological order and with the author’s own commentary, a selection of his photographs documenting the evolution of his approach to photography, as well as his ongoing determination not to become stuck in one place, but to explore new paths and methods. Švolík’s photographs are characterised by an original perspective, playfulness, and an accessibility in the best sense of the word.
