Gohar Dashti was born in Iran, near the border with Iraq, the year the war broke out between the two countries, which lasted until 1988 and tore apart thousands of families, including Gohar Dashti’s. „This conflict had a great impact on the emotional life of my generation,“ explains the photographer and director. In Today’s Life and War series, he captures moments that illustrate the contradiction: Life that goes on despite the devastation caused by war.
